Mangot St Emilion Grand Cru- 2019 (750ml)

Mangot St Emilion Grand Cru- 2019 (750ml)

Winemaker's Notes:

This cru, from the St Emilion Grand Cru appellation, is a faithful portrait of our 4 terroirs spread between the foot of the slopes, slopes, terraces and plateaux.

The 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon blend is also representative of the 21 plots that make up our vineyards.

The aim: to express as many facets as possible of the 21 Mangot plots!

The winery was in transition to or certified organic growning methods when this wine was made.

94 points Falstaff

Dark ruby, purple reflections, broad watery rim. Fine oak savouriness, some vanilla, ripe heart cherry fruit with mineral undertones, delicate hints of liquorice and herbs. Juicy, elegant and very balanced, red cherry, fine tannins, good freshness, salty on the finish, lingers for a long time, already very seductive, with good certain ageing potential.  - Peter Moser Feb '22

92 points Robert Parker

Bursting from the glass with notes of plus, sweet red berries and hints of licorice, the 2019 Mangot is medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, with beautifully powdery tannins and a succulent core of fruit. Giving, charming and lively, it has turned out very well. Traditional barriques are complemented by amphorae in the chai. - William Kelley April '22
