The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon M5 is deeply concentrated as always, with aromas of black cherries, blackberries, vanilla, even hints of road tar. Full-bodied, it carries all its considerable tannins well, finishing long, supple and creamy, with hints of dark chocolate and caramel.
The original developers of the famed Stagecoach Vineyard, brothers Jan and Bart Krupp continue to source some of the grapes for their wine label from that vineyard, which they sold to E&J Gallo in 2017. These are all concentrated, tannic and full-bodied reds, with only one of them (the M5) weighing in under 15% alcohol.
