Kosta Browne Pinot Noir Santa Lucia Highlands - 2021 (750ml)
94 points Robert Parker
The 2021 Pinot Noir Santa Lucia Highlands comes from Garys', Rosella's, Pisoni, Sierra Mar and Soberanes vineyards, and it was matured for 14 months in 49% new oak. It has a medium ruby color and a deep well of aromas: pomegranate, raspberry and cranberry are accented by touches of autumn leaves, tea leaves and spice. The palate is light-bodied, gently chalky and mouthwatering with generous spicy fruit and a long, layered finish replete with floral tones. - Erin Brooks
96 points Wine Review Online
One of the lucky few producers to get access to this spectacular vineyard, and one that the owners are no doubt happy to keep in the loop. This is a lighter, brighter expression of Gary’s Vineyard Pinot Noir than is typical, one that shows its more elegant side. That’s not to say that there isn’t plenty of power here – pulsating acidity carries mixed cherry and ripe strawberry fruit along with a little lemon zest and bright fall spice. The oak is completely complementary here, and the overall structure bodes well for a long life ahead. Bravo! - Rich Cook
