The 2022 Condrieu from Hugo & Pauline Villa, Pierre-Jean Villa's children, is showing well today and is especially suave and refined, evoking aromas of almonds, honeysuckle, apricot and jasmine intertwined with delicate notes of menthol and spices. Medium to full-bodied, round and sappy, it's perfectly enrobing with a fresh, tense mid-palate, a fleshy core of fruit and beautiful gastronomic bitterness on the long, ethereal finish. This superb wine matured 60% in large barrels and 40% in stainless steel and has undergone malolactic fermentation.
