Herb Lamb Vineyards HL Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon - 2014 (750ml)

Winemaking Notes: The 2014 HL Cabernet Sauvignon is more fruit forward than 2013 with sweet, ripe fruit flavors. The nose shows seamless, pure fruit and sweet tobacco leaf highlighted by dark berry and black cherry with cocoa hints and ripe blue and red fruit. In the mouth, the wine is lean and crisp, yet focused and plush, showing ripe, fresh blackberry and cherry fruit and dark, bitter- sweet Bakers cocoa. The entry is velvety and feminine, with fine tannins well integrated into the wine, chalky but not astringent, reflecting the 80% new French oak used for aging. While very approachable on release highlighting fresh fruits, it is still big, bold and expressive and made for the long haul. This wine is dense and well packed in its youth, with beautiful balance and length, and would pair beautifully with a juicy prime rib. The structure, weight and depth of flavors in this wine will allow it to age gracefully for years to come, and should be revisited in 6-8 years.  - herblambvineyards.com
