A deep, intense ruby/purple color, the 2023 opens with aromas of cured meat, black olive, kirsch, raspberry, blueberry, dark plum, blood orange, black truffle, rose petal, fresh asphalt, wet earth, tobacco, grilled herbs, and iron. A fruit-forward and dense, but generous wine, the palate entices with core flavors of ripe, fleshy plum, blackberries, and vanilla bean pots de crème. Nuances of cigar tobacco, dried fig, and olive are also present. A sexy, rich, and harmonious wine that gains momentum and dimension along a long palate, finishing with tension and minerality.
