Even the top-of-the-range Pinot Noir 2018 Ocio strikes me as quite light, like most of the rest of the range this time. The wine is superb in terms of varietal character and purity, neatly oaked and balanced but seems to lack a bit of oomph on the palate and seems to lack some concentration. 85% of this new version of Ocio, Cono Sur's most ambitious pinot, is from the El TriƔngulo Vineyard, toward the warmest part of Casablanca, and the rest is from the Leyda Valley. It's a broad and very ripe wine with spicy and floral tones, but most of all with mouth-filling ripe black fruits. A style that this wine has followed since 2003.
