Christophe Patrice Saint-Bris - 2024 (750ml)
This appellation is a unique and somewhat lesser known AOC in Burgundy and it’s notable because it breaks from Burgundy tradition. Indeed this is the only burgundy appellation where Sauvignon Blanc is allowed. Typically dry, crisp, aromatic whites with notes of citrus, white flowers and a flinty minerality. The wines are often compared to those from the Loire valley but with a Burgundian twist!Â
This wine is a blend of grapes coming from 2 Terroirs , the caillote and and kimeridgian maarl (clay and limestone that was under the ocean million of years ago)
The wine itself shows a softer edge of Sauvignon Blanc, crisp and driven on the palate, as one might expect from these northern vineyards, it also keeps the green grassy notes in check with more citrus and mineral tones. A great alternative to Sancerre.
